Maida Atta Items

Atta or wheat flour is a basic, milled flour made from whole wheat grains. It's a combination of the germ, endosperm and bran of wheat grains. Maida or refined flour is made from just the endosperm of whole wheat grains. As the name suggests, maida or all-purpose flour is highly refined.

Maida is frequently used in baking because of its fine texture, which gives cakes, cookies, pastries, and other sweets a desired lightness. Samosas and pakoras, two crispy appetisers, are also made with it. Maida has a longer shelf life than atta because of its refined quality.

These products are very tasty and tempting but are not good for health. Maida is one of the harmful ingredients in these but they also contain other harmful ingredients like saturated fats, lots of sugar, monosodium glutamate, preservatives and colours.

Cheapest Price

Originally Answered: Why is maida (refined flour) cheaper than aata (regular flour) if the ingredients are the same and maida requires more processing? Maida can be produced from any quality of wheat , So mostly mills use inferior quality of wheat which will not be sold otherwise.
